1988 - Bryan Stokes, the founder of Cartridge World, saw an advert in the South Australian Advertiser newspaper for Australian Laser Charge and went on a training course to learn how to refill laser cartridges. He was taught how to refill two laser cartridges and commenced business in his garden shed.

1992 - Cartridge World is taken into the Franchise Market. He joined forces with Paul Wheeler, who had an impressive background encompassing franchising, finance and management. Together, they planned the franchising structure of Cartridge World.

1997 - The first Cartridge World franchise was sold. The second, third and fourth followed in rapid succession.

2001 - The first UK Cartridge World franchise is established by David Parkinson in Harrogate North Yorkshire.

Over the following years the network of shops has continued to grow and grow and there are now over 1650 stores worldwide.

6,000 trees were planted across the UK as part of a national "Plant a Tree NOT a Cartridge" year long campaign and to celebrate the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Art, Manufactures and Commerce) 250th Anniversary.
